Meet the artist: Conie Vallese

Just over two years ago Jetteke and Lieke came into contact with Conie Vallese through a mutual friend - a powerful (and handsome!) figure who makes extraordinary art. Inspired by her grandmother's paintings, she started working at an early age. By now, she has major collaborations to her name and made the cover of our new Moon Calendar. Conie Vallese
Conie Vallese's style is not easy to capture in words. Her artworks range from black and white prints to sculptures with round, feminine shapes. Her more recent work is also an explosion of colour, but in muted tones. In a Interview with The Last Magazine She explains that her use of colour changed the way she looked at her own work. It brought more happiness, it made me feel better', she explains. We experience that happiness just as she does: her paintings are dynamic and feel like an adventure that pulls you along. In her art, she also incorporates the elements, together with the Sun and the Moon.

Inspiration
Conie grew up in a creative family in Buenos Aires. Especially her grandmother's oil paintings inspired Conie to start with art at a young age. But her father was also an influence: he experimented a great deal with his sculpture, which is also reflected in Conie's flowing lines. Her mother, an interior designer, has also been an inspiration with her sense of aesthetics. And that's not all: she loves films and is not afraid to start her day with an inspiring movie. Besides family and film, she is inspired daily by her husband, fashion photographer Josh Olins. Fun fact: Conie even modeled for an FCUK campaign shot by her husband. She is also his everyday muse and starred in his experimental photo series Tierra.  In short: a woman of all trades and the perfect match for our Moon Calendar.
