Energy This Week
The energy shift following the full moon in Scorpio and Pluto’s retrograde at the beginning of May—which we wrote about last week—is still being felt by many. This energy window has not yet closed. On all levels, there are still many aspects that can be addressed, processed, and released. The recent new moon in Taurus brought some relief and a sense of grounding. It may also have helped you realize that slowing down amid these intense energies is not a weakness, but a necessity.
Last week ended with a Gemini stellium (Venus, Uranus, and Mercury were all in Gemini at the time). This configuration dissolves as Venus moves into Cancer on May 19. Starting on May 21, when the Sun enters Gemini, three planets will once again be in Gemini.
This week, the energy shifts from earthy Taurus to airy Gemini. Because Uranus is involved, this Gemini energy feels less lighthearted than usual. Instead, it feels more restless, transformative, pressured, and electrically charged. Astrologically, this means a great deal of mental activity, rapid communication, social dynamics, plenty of movement and travel, nervous or busy energy, sudden insights, and unexpected twists.
Lunar phase: waxing moon.
May 18: Mars in Taurus and May 19: Venus in Cancer
The energies of Mars (symbol of the masculine) and Venus (symbol of the feminine) are, on the one hand, opposites, but they also seek to dance and create together. That is precisely what we are called upon to do, both individually and collectively. That is why we mention them together.
Mars represents action, direction, decisiveness, and boundaries, while Venus is associated with receiving, connecting, softening, and attunement. When these two energies come into balance, there is no conflict between strength and softness, but rather a natural collaboration between feeling and action, between intuition and movement.
With Mars in Taurus and Venus in Cancer, the energy shifts noticeably from haste and mental overstimulation toward depth, security, and emotional presence. These are not fleeting or superficial energies. They seek to feel what truly resonates, what is reliable, and what nourishes the heart, body, and soul over the long term.
In the earth sign Taurus, Mars’s masculine, fiery, and impulsive nature is tempered and channeled. No longer charging blindly forward, but building consciously and purposefully. Mars in Taurus seeks lasting results. This energy teaches you that strength does not always have to be loud or fast. Sometimes true strength lies precisely in patience, presence, and steadfastness.
Meanwhile, Venus in Cancer brings a deep feminine energy to the forefront. Both Venus and Cancer are associated with gentleness, intuition, receptivity, connection, and emotional security. Venus in Cancer longs for authenticity, warmth, and relationships in which you feel safe enough to open up completely. You may become more sensitive to the atmosphere, energies, and emotional undercurrents. The need for home, rest, security, and meaningful connections may also be felt more strongly.
Together, these energies create a unique interplay between the masculine and feminine. It is not the harsh, performance-driven masculine that takes center stage, but a masculine energy that learns to slow down, feel, and attune. At the same time, Venus in Cancer invites the feminine not only to retreat into softness, but also to create a sense of safety through inner strength and healthy boundaries.
The tension can arise between the need for control and the need to let go. Between wanting to keep going and actually needing rest. Mars in Taurus can stubbornly cling to certainty or comfort, while Venus in Cancer seeks emotional validation and security. As a result, old patterns related to dependency, protection, receiving, or emotionally shutting yourself off may come to the surface.
At the same time, a strong Gemini stellium adds extra mental activity and mobility to this energy. While Mars in Taurus wants to slow things down and Venus in Cancer wants to feel, Gemini can intensify the tendency to first analyze, label, or rationalize feelings before they are truly experienced. Thoughts can move faster, conversations can feel more intense, and the nervous system can respond more sensitively to stimuli, social interactions, and information.
This combination can create an inner tension between your head and your heart. Part of you longs for stillness, safety, and emotional connection, while another part keeps searching for distraction, answers, or mental clarity. As a result, old patterns—such as overthinking, creating emotional distance through humor, talking, or busyness, or losing yourself in mental activity—can become more apparent.
In addition, the Gemini stellium also plays a valuable role within this energy. It helps bring awareness to feelings and patterns that normally remain unconscious. Conversations can have a healing effect, and words can reveal exactly what is going on deep inside. When the mind and heart begin to work together more closely, space opens up not only to understand feelings, but to truly feel and integrate them.
These days, you may feel more keenly how important it is to build a solid foundation within yourself, rather than looking for it only outside yourself. Physical signs can also speak more clearly: fatigue, tension in the body, or a strong need for rest and slowing down are signals that you should listen more closely to yourself.
Work with this energy by consciously slowing down and taking care of yourself. Allow yourself to become more gentle without losing your strength. The key to this combination lies in embodied gentleness: strength that does not force, love that does not rescue, and action that comes from inner calm rather than restlessness.
May 21: Sun in Gemini and May 22: Sun in Gemini conjunct Uranus
Gemini is an air sign associated with thinking, communication, learning, curiosity, and the exchange of information. This energy seeks to discover, understand, connect, and experience.
With the Sun in Gemini, attention therefore shifts more toward conversations, ideas, social interaction, and the sharing of thoughts and feelings. There may be a greater need for movement, variety, writing, learning, or new experiences. Gemini shifts gears quickly, sees things from different perspectives, and continually seeks mental stimulation, but can therefore also become more prone to restlessness, overthinking, and overstimulation.
A day later, the conjunction of the Sun and Uranus amplifies this energy even further. Uranus is the planet of awakening, change, liberation, and sudden insights. In Gemini, this leads to mental breakthroughs, unexpected conversations, new perspectives, and a strong need for freedom in thinking and communicating. Situations that seemed stuck can suddenly shift, and old beliefs can be broken through more quickly.
This energy can feel like an inner wake-up call. You may suddenly see clearly where you have held yourself back, adapted to your circumstances, or continued to operate based on old mental patterns. At the same time, Uranus in Gemini can also bring restlessness: overthinking, agitation, sleep problems, or the feeling of constantly being "on." Thoughts can move faster than the body can process.
It is precisely for this reason that the earlier energy of Mars in Taurus and Venus in Cancer remains important. They help remind you that not everything needs to be resolved or understood immediately. The invitation of these days lies in flexibility: making space for new insights without getting lost in mental chaos. Uranus shakes awake what has been stuck for too long. Not to create chaos, but to bring you closer to freedom, authenticity, and awareness.
"How can you maintain within yourself the 'sacred marriage' between masculine decisiveness and feminine receptivity, while remaining open to the rapid change and new insights of Gemini and Uranus?"

May 18: Mars in Taurus and May 19: Venus in Cancer
The energies of Mars (symbol of the masculine) and Venus (symbol of the feminine) are opposites in one sense, yet they also seek to dance and create together. This is precisely the challenge we face, both individually and collectively. That is why we mention them together.
Mars represents action, direction, drive, and boundaries, while Venus is associated with receiving, connecting, softening, and harmonizing. When these two energies come into balance, there is no conflict between strength and gentleness, but rather a natural synergy between feeling and action, between intuition and movement.
With Mars in Taurus and Venus in Cancer, the energy shifts noticeably from haste and mental overstimulation toward depth, security, and emotional presence. At the same time, a strong Gemini stellium brings additional mental activity and agility to this energy. Where Mars in Taurus wants to slow things down and Venus in Cancer wants to feel, Gemini can intensify the tendency to first analyze, label, or rationalize feelings before truly experiencing them. Thoughts can move faster, conversations can feel more intense, and the nervous system can react more sensitively to stimuli, social interactions, and information.

May 18: Mars in Taurus and May 19: Venus in Cancer
The energies of Mars (symbolizing the masculine) and Venus (symbolizing the feminine) are, on the one hand, opposites, but they also seek to dance and create together. This is precisely what we are called upon to do, both individually and collectively. That is why we mention them together.

May 21: Sun in Gemini and May 22: Sun in Gemini conjunct Uranus
Gemini is an air sign and is associated with thinking, communication, learning, curiosity, and the exchange of information. This energy seeks to discover, understand, connect, and experience.
With the Sun in Gemini, the focus therefore shifts more toward conversations, ideas, social interaction, and sharing thoughts and feelings. There may be a greater need for movement, variety, writing, learning, or new experiences. Gemini thinks on its feet, sees different perspectives, and constantly seeks mental stimulation, but this can also make it more prone to restlessness, overthinking, and overstimulation.
A day later, the conjunction of the Sun and Uranus amplifies this energy even further. Uranus is the planet of awakening, change, liberation, and sudden insights.
