Energy This Week

This week is about seeing, feeling, recognizing, reevaluating, and making new choices. Venus retrograde brings themes such as love, intimacy, self-worth, and old relationship patterns back to the surface. The new moon in Libra invites you to examine the balance between yourself and others. And Mercury in Scorpio helps you feel more deeply and take an honest look at what truly lives within you and still suits you.

This isn't necessarily a week in which you need to decide everything right away. It is precisely by not jumping to conclusions that you create the space to discover which feelings, values, and desires are resurfacing.

Mercury is still moving direct, but is already in its shadow period before the retrograde that begins on October 24. This makes this week particularly well-suited for gaining clarity on matters that may require your attention again later.

The energy can feel nostalgic and intense. The familiar can be appealing, but at the same time, something inside you may awaken that is calling for change.

Lunar phases: waning moon (until October 9), new moon (October 10), and waxing moon (starting October 11).

October 5: Moon conjunct Mars opposite Pluto

The Moon is aligned with Mars in the fiery sign of Leo. Together, they are directly opposite Pluto in Aquarius. This creates a powerful, intense energy that can touch you deeply.

Tensions between Mars and Pluto have been simmering for some time; the Moon acts as a cosmic trigger that can heighten those tensions even further. Feelings and emotions can run high, and everything can be expressed with great passion. This can lead to sudden outbursts, impulsive reactions, or intense confrontations.

Pluto is associated with deep-seated transformation, old patterns, and emotions that you might prefer not to confront. The conjunction of the Moon and Mars can bring hidden tensions and frustrations related to power and control to the surface. What you no longer want to ignore or suppress may make itself heard emphatically today.

At the same time, this energy also gives you a chance to take an honest look at what truly lives within you. Sometimes, the very thing that moves you the most is a sign that something wants to be seen, felt, or released. You may experience a distinct “all-or-nothing” energy today.

Fortunately, Saturn brings a little more rest and grounding later in the day. You’ll find the space not only to feel your emotions, but also to accept them calmly and deal with them consciously. What may at first feel like a fierce wave can, in this way, slowly transform into insight and direction.

Tip for today: Count to ten and take a few calm breaths before reacting. Give yourself the space to first sense what is truly stirring within you. Use today’s powerful physical and mental energy to finish a task, get your body moving, exercise, or blow off some steam outdoors. This way, the energy can flow rather than build up.

And some wonderful news for stargazers: before dawn on October 5, the waning crescent moon will pass very close to the bright, rosy-red dot of Mars in the eastern sky. In some parts of the world, a true occultation of Mars by the moon can even be observed.

October 6: Mercury conjunct retrograde Venus

Today, Mercury and Venus (which is retrograde) come close together in Scorpio. This is one of the most important transits of the week. Your thoughts, feelings, and deepest desires may become more closely intertwined.

Scorpio has no patience for superficiality and small talk. Conversations can quickly take on a deeper tone. You may have a keener sense of what’s really going on and see through inauthentic facades. Things you might normally keep to yourself or choose to ignore can suddenly come to the surface.

Because Venus is retrograde, something from the past may demand your attention once again. Old patterns, trust, and unspoken feelings may surface and invite you to take a more honest look at yourself. Perhaps you’ll discover that you feel differently than you thought. Or that an old belief about love, connection, or your self-worth no longer serves you as well.

Mercury helps you put into words what Venus is making you feel. And that is precisely where something beautiful can emerge: not only do you gain a better understanding of what lies within you, but you may also find the courage to truly admit it to yourself.

You don't need to resolve anything today or make a decision right away. Just give yourself the space to feel and listen. Sometimes the insight comes on its own when you briefly stop trying to find the answer.

October 10: New Moon in Libra

Every new moon marks a new beginning or a new cycle. In Libra, the focus is on relationships, cooperation, harmony, balance, equality, and honesty. The relationship between “I” and “we” also takes center stage. How do you stay true to yourself while making room for others?

This new moon coincides with Venus in retrograde. Venus is the ruler of Libra. That makes the symbolism interesting: a new cycle begins, while Venus simultaneously reexamines old values and relationship patterns.

Perhaps you feel that you want to handle certain aspects of your relationships differently. That you have a greater need for equality, honesty, or space to be yourself. Or perhaps you realize that something you’ve long considered important no longer quite aligns with where you are now.

This new moon invites you to take another look at the balance between giving and receiving, between connecting with others and staying true to yourself. Perhaps you suddenly realize that you’ve given too much of yourself in recent years and have adapted too much in order to belong or fit into “a box.” That realization can be painful and, at the same time, liberating.

Use this period of retrogrades to investigate, explore, and reflect on everything, so that your scales—your precious life energy—can return to balance.

October 10: Venus square Mars

On the same day, a few hours after the new moon, Venus forms a square with Mars. This has an impact.

Venus is about connection, desire, and values, while Mars represents action, decisiveness, and how you stand up for yourself. The square creates tension between what you feel and desire and how you then deal with it.

For example, you may feel both attraction and hesitation at the same time, or feel desire while also wanting to set boundaries. Or you may notice that, on the one hand, you want to keep the peace, but on the other, you want to say exactly what you really think.

Tension can also arise between wanting to hold on to something and, at the same time, feeling a need for change.

Because Venus is retrograde, this tension doesn't have to surface right away. In fact, it can serve as an inner mirror. You have the chance to sense where you are not yet fully in tune with yourself.

Perhaps you know exactly what you want, but you notice that your behavior doesn't yet fully reflect that. Or perhaps you realize that you're trying to hold on to something, while another part of you longs precisely for more freedom.

You don't need to have an answer to that right away. Sometimes it's already helpful just to acknowledge the contradiction for a moment. It's precisely when you give both sides room to exist that greater clarity can emerge about what you truly need.

"What wants to be seen and felt, so that you can choose—based on a deeper inner truth and self-love—what truly suits you? And where do you stand in relation to the other?"

Monday, October 5–11,
Energy This Week

This week is all about seeing, feeling, acknowledging, reevaluating, and choosing anew. Venus in retrograde brings issues such as love, intimacy, self-worth, and old relationship patterns back to the surface. The new moon in Libra invites you to consider the balance between yourself and others. And Mercury in Scorpio helps you feel more deeply and honestly examine what truly lives within you and still resonates with you.

This isn't necessarily a week in which you have to decide everything right away. It's precisely by not jumping to conclusions that you create space to discover which feelings, values, and desires are resurfacing.

Mercury is still direct, but it’s already in its shadow period leading up to its retrograde, which begins on October 24. This makes this week particularly well-suited for gaining clarity on matters that may require your attention again later on.

That energy can feel both nostalgic and intense. The familiar can be appealing, but at the same time, it can awaken something within you that craves change.

Lunar phases: waning moon (through October 9), new moon (October 10), and waxing moon (starting October 11).

October 5: Moon Conjunction Mars Opposite Pluto

The Moon is in the fiery sign of Leo, along with Mars. Together, they are directly opposite Pluto in Aquarius. This creates a powerful, intense energy that can deeply move you.

There has been friction between Mars and Pluto for a while now; the Moon acts as a cosmic trigger that can further escalate the tensions. Feelings and emotions can be intense, and everything can be expressed with great passion. This can lead to sudden outbursts, impulsive reactions, or intense confrontations.

Pluto is associated with deep-rooted transformation, old patterns, and emotions that you might prefer not to face. The conjunction of the Moon and Mars can bring hidden tensions and frustrations surrounding power and control to the surface. What you no longer wish to ignore or suppress may make itself heard very clearly today.

At the same time, this energy also offers you a chance to take an honest look at what truly lives within you. Sometimes, the very thing that moves you the most is a sign that something needs to be seen, felt, or let go of. Today, you may experience a distinct “all-or-nothing” energy.

Fortunately, Saturn brings a bit more calm and grounding later in the day. This creates space not only to feel your emotions, but also to calmly accept them and deal with them mindfully. What may initially feel like a powerful wave can slowly transform into insight and a sense of direction.

Tip for today: Count to ten and take a few calm breaths in and out before you react. Give yourself the space to first feel what’s really stirring inside you. Use today’s powerful physical and mental energy to wrap something up, get your body moving, exercise, or get some fresh air. That way, the energy can flow instead of building up.

And some great news for stargazers: Before dawn on October 5, the waning crescent moon will pass very close to the bright, rose-red dot of Mars in the eastern sky. In some parts of the world, you’ll even be able to observe the moon actually covering Mars.

October 6: Mercury Conjunction with Retrograde Venus

Today, Mercury and Venus (which is retrograde) are coming close together in Scorpio. This is one of the most important transits of the week. What you think, what you feel, and what you truly desire may become more closely intertwined.

Scorpio has no patience for superficiality and small talk. Conversations can quickly take on a deeper tone. You can sense more keenly what’s really going on and cut through the layers of pretense. Things you might normally keep to yourself or swallow can suddenly come to the surface.

Since Venus is in retrograde, something from the past may demand your attention once again. Old patterns, trust issues, and unspoken feelings may surface, inviting you to take a more honest look at yourself. You may discover that you feel differently than you thought. Or that an old belief about love, connection, or your self-worth no longer serves you well.

Mercury helps you put into words what Venus makes you feel. And that’s exactly where something beautiful can emerge: Not only do you gain a better understanding of what’s inside you, but you might also actually dare to admit it to yourself.

You don't have to figure anything out today or make a decision right away. Just give yourself the space to feel and listen. Sometimes the answer comes on its own when you stop looking for it for a moment.

October 10: New Moon in Libra

Every new moon marks a new beginning or a new cycle. In Libra, the focus is on relationships, cooperation, harmony, balance, equality, and honesty. The relationship between the self and the collective is also central. How do you stay true to yourself while also making room for others?

This new moon coincides with Venus in retrograde. Venus is the ruler of Libra. That makes the symbolism interesting: A new cycle begins, while Venus simultaneously reexamines old values and relational patterns.

Perhaps you feel that you want to do certain things differently in your relationships—that you have a greater need for equality, honesty, or space to be yourself. Or maybe you’re just realizing that something you’ve long considered important no longer quite fits where you are now.

This new moon invites you to take another look at the balance between giving and receiving, between connecting with others and staying true to yourself. Perhaps you’ll suddenly realize that, in recent years, you’ve given too much of yourself away and conformed too much just to fit in or be “pigeonholed.” This realization can be painful and liberating at the same time.

Make time during this retrograde period to examine, explore, and reflect on everything, so that your balance—your precious life energy—can be restored.

October 10: Venus Square Mars

On the same day, a few hours after the new moon, Venus forms a square with Mars. This has an impact.

Venus is about connection, desire, and values, while Mars represents action, drive, and standing up for yourself. The square creates tension between what you feel and desire and how you deal with it.

For example, you might experience both attraction and reserve at the same time—feeling desire while also wanting to set your boundaries. Or you might realize that, on the one hand, you want to keep the peace, but on the other hand, you want to speak your mind.

There can also be a tension between wanting to hold on to something and, at the same time, feeling that you need a change.

Since Venus is in retrograde, this tension doesn't have to manifest outwardly right away. It may simply be an inner reflection. You have the chance to sense where you're not quite in alignment with yourself yet.

Perhaps you know exactly what you want, but you realize that your behavior doesn't quite match that yet. Or maybe you discover that you're trying to hold on to something, while another part of you is crying out for more freedom.

You don't have to have an answer right away. Sometimes it's helpful just to briefly acknowledge the conflict. Especially when you give both sides some space, it can lead to greater clarity about what you really need.

"What needs to be seen and felt so that you can choose, from a deeper inner truth and self-love, what truly suits you? And where do you stand in relation to the other person?"

And more good news for stargazers: before dawn on October 5, the waning crescent moon will pass very close to the bright, pinkish-red dot of Mars in the eastern sky. In some parts of the world, you’ll even be able to see the moon actually cover Mars.

October 6: Mercury conjunct retrograde Venus

Today, Mercury and Venus (which is retrograde) come close together in Scorpio. This is one of the most important transits of the week. Your thoughts, feelings, and true desires may become more closely intertwined.

Scorpios don't like superficiality or small talk. Conversations can quickly take on a deeper tone. You can sense more keenly what's really going on and see through the false facades. Things you might normally keep to yourself or prefer to hold back can suddenly come to the surface.

This new moon invites you to take a fresh look at the balance between giving and receiving, between connecting with others and staying true to yourself. Perhaps you’ll suddenly realize that you’ve given too much of yourself away in recent years and have conformed too much just to fit in or be “labeled.” That realization can be painful and liberating at the same time.

Make room during this period of retrogrades to examine, explore, and reflect on everything so that your scales—your precious life energy—can return to balance.

October 10: Venus square Mars

On the same day, a few hours after the new moon, Venus forms a square with Mars. This has an impact.

Venus is about connection, desire, and values, while Mars represents action, decisiveness, and standing up for yourself. The square creates tension between what you feel and desire and how you ultimately deal with it.
