Energy This Week

We’ve entered a new month, but August is much more than just a month of eclipses. The energy invites you to gently close an old door behind you and step into a new space with an open heart.

Perhaps in recent days you have noticed that certain situations, relationships, or beliefs no longer feel self-evident. It’s as though something inside you has begun to whisper that it’s time to take an honest look at what still truly suits you. Where are you still holding yourself back? Where are you perhaps living out of old habits or out of a need to be seen or appreciated? And where exactly does your soul long for more freedom, authenticity, and space?

The major astrological shifts of recent months are becoming increasingly noticeable. Chiron goes retrograde this week, Venus returns to her own sign, Libra, Mercury changes signs twice this month, and later in August, two eclipses together form a powerful gateway to transformation.

The Upcoming Eclipses

A total solar eclipse in Leo on August 12 opens the door to new possibilities, after which a lunar eclipse in Pisces at the end of the month invites surrender, completion, and release.

The solar eclipse is being described as spectacular. The total eclipse will be visible only along a narrow path across Iceland and parts of Spain, among other places, while large parts of Europe will be able to witness an impressive partial solar eclipse. In the Netherlands, approximately 90% of the sun will be obscured. This makes it the largest eclipse since 1999. We’ll provide more details in our next update.

Between these two eclipses, a special transitional phase unfolds. It is a period during which you can sense ever more clearly what is seeking to grow within you, what has run its course, and where your heart is trying to lead you.

Sirius: The Beginning of a New Cosmic Year

The recent full moon held special symbolic significance. It was the last full moon before the Egyptian New Year, which is celebrated each year around July 26, when Sirius reappears in the sky. Sirius is the brightest star in the sky. It shines 25 times brighter than the sun.

This year, Sirius reappeared for the first time in Giza, Egypt, on August 1, after a period of invisibility. The ancient Egyptians regarded this moment as the beginning of a new cosmic year: a time of rebirth, renewal, and a fresh stream of life.

They viewed this period as a sacred moment of transition—a time to find stillness, to look back, to let go of what no longer serves them, and to consciously make room for a new beginning. Through rituals, self-reflection, fasting, and gratitude, they attuned themselves to the new cycle that was unfolding.

Perhaps you felt more emotions, fatigue, or inner restlessness than usual around the full moon. Many people experience this transition as a period during which a great deal is cleared away from within. It’s as if old issues become visible one last time before they can be released.

Look back with gratitude on "what was" and look forward with gentleness. You don't need to know everything yet or have immediate answers. Sometimes, simply letting go and opening yourself up to the new is enough.

Lunar phase: waning moon.

July 30 – August 24: Perseid Meteor Shower

Shooting stars are visible again! During the Perseid meteor shower, the Earth passes through the dust trail left behind by Comet Swift-Tuttle. When these small particles enter our atmosphere at high speed, they burn up and appear as bright streaks of light in the sky. These are the shooting stars that we have been watching in wonder for thousands of years.

Throughout the centuries, many cultures viewed these flashes of light as special signs from the heavens—as messages from the universe, as blessings, or as moments when wishes could be made. Others believed they were the souls of loved ones briefly appearing in the dark.

Every shooting star reminds you of the special connection between heaven and earth, of the continuous flow of life, and of the wonder that everything is constantly changing. And that, no matter how old you are, you may continue to believe in magic and the wonderful moments that life brings you.

August 3: Chiron Retrograde in Taurus

Chiron, the wounded healer, begins its retrograde in Taurus on August 3 and ends it on January 6, 2027, in Aries. During this period, your focus shifts to your inner foundation. You are invited to pause and reflect on questions such as: What gives you a true sense of safety? Where do you derive your self-worth from? And do you dare to trust yourself and the flow of life?

Chiron in Taurus brings old wounds to the surface regarding self-worth, existential security, abundance, the body, and receiving. Perhaps you’ll discover beliefs in which you still think you must first prove something before you deserve love, success, or abundance. Or you’ll notice that you’re holding on to situations or certainties that no longer serve you, because letting go feels daunting.

This retrograde invites you to approach these patterns with gentleness and compassion. Taurus reminds you that true safety does not lie outside yourself, but arises when you are grounded in yourself and recognize your own worth.

The timing of this retrograde deepens this process. We are still in the energy of the full moon in Aquarius, with the North Node in Aquarius and the South Node in Leo. While the full moon revealed which old roles, expectations, and need for recognition you may be ready to let go of, the North Node invites you to remain true to your own truth and unique path.

Pluto in Aquarius helps transform old patterns, while Saturn retrograde in Aries invites you to take responsibility for the choices that come with that—not out of a desire to control, but out of inner strength, maturity, and trust.

Until early January 2027, this retrograde offers a valuable period for healing and self-reflection. By letting go of old beliefs and identities, you create space to live more and more in alignment with who you truly are.

August 6: Venus in Libra

On August 6, Venus returns to Libra, the sign where she naturally feels at home. As a result, Venus’s qualities come through especially strongly. Venus is the planet of love, connection, beauty, harmony, self-worth, enjoyment, and receiving. She reveals how we form relationships, what we value, and how we give and receive love.

After the intense events of recent weeks, Venus in Libra feels like a gentle invitation to find balance once again. Not by adapting yourself or avoiding conflicts, but by making choices based on love, honesty, and connection that truly suit you.

While the North Node in Aquarius invites you to stay true to your own path, Venus helps you explore how you connect with others from that place of authenticity. Can you express yourself without losing sight of who you are? And can you receive love and support as freely as you give them?

This energy also brings a greater need for beauty, creativity, rest, and moments of enjoyment. You may long for art, music, nature, or an environment that radiates harmony and gentleness. Venus reminds you that healing comes not only through deep inner work, but also through loving attention, pleasure, and consciously allowing what nourishes your heart.

Now that old patterns are being released, Venus in Libra helps you to view yourself and others with more love. True harmony arises when you remain true to yourself while also staying open to others. From that balance, space is created for relationships based on authenticity, equality, trust, and an open heart.

August 8: Fixed the peak of the Lion's Gate

Every year, the Lion's Gate period takes place between the end of July and mid-August. August 8 (8-8) is traditionally considered the peak of this energetic gateway, partly because of the symbolism of the number 8, which represents infinity, strength, and awareness. However, the energy of the Lion's Gate is not limited to a single day.

The Lion's Gate is associated with the return of Sirius to the sky after a period of invisibility. The exact date of this event varies by year and location. In ancient Egypt, this event was regarded as the beginning of a new cosmic year—a time of renewal, growth, and abundance.

August 8 is therefore, above all, a symbolic and spiritual moment. The energy is often felt throughout this entire period, as the Sun moves through Leo and Sirius becomes visible again. It is an invitation to open yourself to new inspiration, awareness, and the magic of a new cycle.

August 9: Mercury in Leo

Mercury, the planet of communication, thought, and exchange, enters warm-hearted Leo. Communication and thoughts thereby become warmer, more creative, and more expressive. While Mercury reveals how we think and share our ideas, Leo invites us to speak more from the heart.

This period encourages you to express yourself more honestly, to share your creativity, and to put into words what truly lives within you—not out of a need to be heard, but out of the courage to let your unique voice be heard.

Mercury in Leo reminds you that communication isn't just about finding the right words, but also about the energy and the heart with which you speak them. Energy always speaks louder.

"What new beginning and what new life energy are waiting to be born through you? What old layer might you lovingly let go of, so that space is created for what wants to unfold within you?"

Energy This Week

We’ve entered a new month, but August is much more than just a month of eclipses. The energy invites you to gently close an old door behind you and step into a new space with an open heart.

Perhaps you’ve noticed over the past few days that certain situations, relationships, or beliefs no longer feel like a given. As if something inside you has begun to whisper that it’s time to take an honest look at what truly resonates with you anymore. Where are you still holding yourself back? Where might you be living out of old habits or out of a need to be seen or appreciated? And where is your soul currently longing for more freedom, authenticity, and space?

The major astrological shifts of the past few months are becoming increasingly noticeable. You may discover beliefs you still hold—that you first have to prove yourself before you deserve love, success, or abundance. Or you may realize that you’re clinging to situations or certainties that no longer serve you, because letting go feels unsettling.

This retrograde invites you to approach these patterns with gentleness and compassion. Taurus reminds you that true security does not lie outside of you, but arises when you are grounded within yourself and recognize your own worth.

This energy also brings a greater need for beauty, creativity, peace, and moments of enjoyment. You may find yourself longing for art, music, nature, or an environment that radiates harmony and gentleness. Venus reminds you that healing comes not only through deep inner work, but also through loving attention, joy, and consciously allowing what nourishes your heart.

Now that you’re letting go of old patterns, Venus in Libra helps you view yourself and others with more love. True harmony arises when you remain true to yourself while staying open to others. This balance creates space for relationships based on authenticity, equality, trust, and an open heart.
