Energy This Week

According to the Gregorian calendar, the new year begins on January 1. On paper, that makes sense. But when you look at nature, it feels somewhat strange. The earth is resting. Animals retreat. Seeds lie dormant beneath the soil. There is nothing yet that wants to grow, nothing pushing outward. Everything is turned inward.

Ancient nature-based cultures understood this instinctively. The Celts did not begin the year until the spring equinox, when the light returned and life became visible again. Their calendar followed thirteen moons, each lasting twenty-eight days. This rhythm was aligned with nature. Even among the ancient Romans, the year once began in March, Martius. Winter was not a beginning, but a nameless in-between time. A period without urgency.

Our current calendar is owed to Pope Gregory XIII, who in 1582 brought order and structure with a new system. Practical and efficient, yet also disconnected from natural rhythm. Since then, perhaps we have forgotten how to see winter as a sacred pause. A time of rest, maturation, and preparation, rather than action.

This week, you may feel a shift in the energy. Where the past weeks felt surprisingly dynamic — almost as if winter had been skipped — the energy now settles back into its natural bed. Calm. Quiet. Light. As if a gentle, calming hand is placed on your shoulder, inviting you to slow down.

In large parts of Europe, it is cold, with snow making the landscape quieter and brighter. Snow that reflects the light in a magical way, yet also slows everything down. When the ground is slippery, there is no choice but to reduce speed.

That same invitation is present in this week’s energy: slow down. Turn inward. Sink deeper into stillness.

Astrologically, this period is firmly colored by Capricorn. An energy that does not ask for grand gestures, but for maturity. For choices that are right in the long term. The Sun illuminates not what is fast or spectacular, but what is reliable. What receives attention now wants to be built on a solid foundation.

Saturn is clearly felt. Like an inner voice saying: take it slowly, but choose authenticity. Boundaries may become more visible. What is vague, what lingers in postponement or groundless hope, may no longer feel sustainable this week.

And then there is Pluto, quietly present in the background. Pluto reveals where old beliefs, control mechanisms, or power dynamics have reached the end of their cycle. You may notice a shift in how you relate to authority. To who or what determines your direction. Outside yourself — but especially within.

Mercury helps bring clarity of thought, without noise. Words become fewer, but more sincere. You need to say less to mean more. Inside, too, things grow quieter. Thoughts organize themselves. Choices feel simpler, because they arise from a deeper layer.

This is not a week for manifesting, pushing forward, or socializing. It is a week of stillness and inner positioning. Perhaps also a time of de-stimulation and detoxing after the busyness and abundance of the holidays. Your nervous system and digestion may be asking for a reset.

This week invites you to feel where you are right now, and why. Without judgment, haste, or the need to prove anything. You are allowed to land, to rest, and to trust that movement will return naturally when the time is right.

Allow yourself to begin the new working week from this calm energy, and to set the tone for the rest of the year. More conscious. More soulful. More authentic. More grounded.

“How can I listen more closely to my inner rhythm this week and create space for silence and rest? And how can I simply be present, without needing to prove anything?”

Energy diese Woche

According to the Gregorian calendar, the new year begins on January 1. Logical on paper. But when you look at nature, it actually feels strange. The earth is at rest. Animals retreat. Seeds lie still underground. There is nothing yet that wants to grow, nothing that pushes outward. Everything is turned inward.

Ancient cultures that were close to nature understood this instinctively. The Celts began the year only at the spring equinox, when light returned and life became visible again. Their calendar followed thirteen moons, each lasting twenty-eight days. This rhythm was attuned to nature. Even among the ancient Romans, the year once began only in March, Martius. Winter was not a beginning, but a nameless interim period. A phase without haste.

Our current calendar dates back to Pope Gregory XIII, who created order and structure with a new system in 1582. Practical and efficient, but at the same time detached from the natural rhythm. Perhaps since then we have somewhat forgotten how to see winter as a sacred pause. As a time of rest, maturation, and preparation—instead of action.

This week, you may sense a shift in energy. While the past few weeks felt surprisingly dynamic—almost as if winter had been skipped—the energy is now finally returning to its natural state. Calm. Subdued. Light. As if a soothing hand were gently placed on your shoulder, inviting you to pause.

In large parts of Europe, it is cold, and snow has made the landscape quieter and brighter. Snow that magically reflects the light, but also slows it down. When it is slippery, there is no choice but to slow down.

This same invitation lies in the energy of this week: slow down. Turn inward. Sink deeper into the silence.

Astrologically, this period is clearly dominated by Capricorn. An energy that does not call for grand gestures, but rather for maturity. For decisions that are consistent in the long term. The sun does not illuminate the fast or spectacular, but rather the reliable. What is now receiving attention wants to be built on a solid foundation.

Saturn is clearly noticeable. Like an inner voice that says: take it easy, but choose authenticity. Boundaries can become more clearly visible. What is vague, what remains in procrastination or hopeful waiting without foundation, may no longer feel sustainable this week.

And then there is Pluto, quietly present in the background. Pluto shows where old beliefs, control mechanisms, or power dynamics have had their day. You may notice that your view of authority is changing. Of who or what gives you direction. Outside of yourself — but above all from within.

Mercury helps you think clearly, without noise. Words become fewer, but more honest. You have to say less to mean more. It also becomes quieter inside you. Thoughts fall into place. Decisions feel easier because they come from a deeper layer.

This is not a week for manifesting, pushing forward, or intense socializing. It is a week of silence and inner alignment. Perhaps also a time to reduce stimulation and detoxify after the festivities. Your nervous system and digestion may need a reset.

This week invites you to feel where you are right now — and why. Without judgment, haste, or the urge to prove yourself. You are allowed to arrive, rest, and trust that movement will return on its own when the time is right.

Allow yourself to start the new working week from this calm energy and set the tone for the rest of the year. More conscious, more inspired, more authentic, and more grounded.

Energy this week

According to the Gregorian calendar, the new year begins on January 1. Logical on paper. But when you look at nature, it actually feels strange. The earth is resting. Animals are retreating. Seeds lie dormant underground. Nothing wants to grow yet, nothing is pushing its way out. Everything is turned inward.

Ancient indigenous peoples understood this instinctively. The Celts only began the year at the spring equinox, when light returns and life reappears. Their calendar followed thirteen moons, each lasting twenty-eight days. This rhythm was attuned to nature. The ancient Romans also began the year in March, Martius. Winter was not a beginning, but a nameless interim period. A period without haste.

We owe our current calendar to Pope Gregory XIII, who brought order and structure with a new system in 1582. Practical and efficient, but also disconnected from the natural rhythm. Since then, we may have somewhat forgotten how to view winter as a sacred pause. A time of rest, maturation, and preparation, rather than action.

This week, you may sense a shift in energy. Whereas the past few weeks felt surprisingly dynamic—almost as if winter had been skipped—energy is now finally settling into its natural state. Calm. Subdued. Light. As if a gentle, soothing hand has been placed on your shoulder, bringing you to a standstill.

Large parts of Europe are cold, with snow making the landscape quieter and lighter. Snow that magically reflects the light, but also slows things down. You have no choice but to slow down when it's slippery.

That same invitation lies in this week's energy: slow down. Turn inward. Sink deeper into silence.

Astrologically, this period is firmly dominated by Capricorn. An energy that does not call for grand gestures, but for maturity. For choices that are right in the long term. The sun does not illuminate what is fast or spectacular, but what is reliable. What is now receiving attention wants to be built on a solid foundation.

Saturn is clearly noticeable. Like an inner voice saying: take it easy, but choose authenticity. Boundaries may become more visible. Anything that is vague, that lingers in procrastination or unfounded hope, may feel untenable this week.

And then there is Pluto, quietly present in the background. Pluto shows where old beliefs, control mechanisms, or power dynamics have had their day. You may notice that you view authority differently. Who or what determines your direction. Outside yourself, but especially from within.

Mercury helps you think clearly, without noise. Words become more economical, but more sincere. You need to say less to mean more. You also become quieter inside. Thoughts become more organized. Choices feel easier because they come from a deeper level.

This is not a week for manifesting, pushing forward, and socializing. It is a week of silence and inner positioning. And perhaps also a week of unwinding and detoxing after the hustle and bustle and all the food during the holidays. Your nervous system and digestion may need a reset.

This week invites you to feel where you are now and why. Without judgment, haste, or the urge to prove yourself. You can land, rest, and trust that you will naturally start moving again when the time is right.

Allow yourself to start the new work week from this calm energy and set the tone for the rest of the year. More conscious, more inspired, more authentic, and more grounded.

How can I listen more to my inner rhythm this week and create space for silence and tranquility? And how can I just be present, without having to prove anything?
